I received this message in eMule v0.30c:

[10:00:12] opbhur: [AUTOMATED WARNING} Your client is connecting too fast, it will get banned

What am I doing wrong? I've looked at the eMule tutorial but can't find anything that might help. I have been mysteriously booted off eMule in the past and it's very annoying as I have to reboot the computer!

The guy is bullshitting you. Lots of people just post it to make n00bs panic. unn00b yourself, and learn the way of the AfterDawners. :P

It's probably some prick trying to get you scared. And update to 30.0e, that might fix the problem.

Everyone is entitled to their own true opinion. Either respect that or don't.

Or it might not be someone trying to bullshit you.
eMule MODs -meaning modified versions of eMule, have a function to automatically send a message to someone who is about to get banned from their computer. 2 Reasons that have caused me to receive these warnings were:
1) I restarted eMule within 10 minutes of closing it, mule reasks sources after you restart. I got rid of this problem by using a stopwatch. (10min)
2) If you keep changing your maximum downloadspeed, eMule will accept more sources, causing asking to happen too frequently again. This might not happen in 0.30e anymore.

There's also a big chance that the Mod'ed mule is outdated and sends those messages because of a bug in it. As the helpfile says the real mule does not send those messages.

You know when you get banned when suddenly your 200 valid sources drop to 0-10 useful ones. eMule 0.30e seems to drop the banned status from people after a few hours. Banned people are unbanned when eMule is restarted. But if you are banned, restarting YOUR mule won't help, just have to wait.
