DiY PSP Charger

I recently took an old 5v charger for a device i do not have anymore and i cut the end off and took my USB Charger and i cut the end off from the usb end, stripped both cables and connected it.

Now, i am able to charge my PSP, but my problem is that i am unable to play games on it while i am charging.

Also, it does not charge when in use.

Is there a way to charge it while playing?

On the slim, or old. Which end was used for charging the mini usb or the normal plug? I'm guessing not enough mA, but psp doesnt requrire that much. and if u are using slim and charging through the usb then it doesnt charge unless u are in usb mode, there is a hack for it thought from the noobz's team but it works on custom firmware.
