i've been reading on how to mod my psp for the last 2 days and theres so much information its hard to take everything in. i have a modded ps2 and nds so i know the whole iso idea. Now i come to the psp and i have to update firmware and i'm lost. i have firmware 3.90 slim psp. so here are my questions if there is anyone that can help me i would be thankful.

1. if i have a slim psp do i really need to go buy a fat battery?

2. do i need to downgrade my fireware to be able to play games or can i go from 3.90 to 3.90m33?

3. When i turn my slim battery into a pandora battery(if i can use the slim one) can i turn it back to a regular battery easy?

no not if you use the pandora magic ms way i went 3.95 to 3.71 to 3.90m33 to 3.90m33-4 and yes with the datel service tool (codejunkies.com) you can turn a slim psp battery to a pandora and back in about 2-3 seconds.

Also use a easy installer (theres a tread here with one here) or the totalnoobeasyinstaller (i forget where i got it) and u just put them both in press [] to do a nand dump take out battery put it in press X I also had to press up on the controll pad every time to load from the memory stick for some reason. i also had the "to small reserved sectors" problem and had to do this from reddevilCT at http://www.pspmod.com/forums/firmware/26...xp-vista-3.html

i did all these command prompts in this order on an XP machine

TAKE THESE STEPS:

1.download msm.rar at the start of this thread and unpack to C\users\(yourname)

2.search for MSPFORMAT download it may be on this site but as a newbie i dont know........Google is your friend also and once downloaded save to C\users\(yourname)

3.launch a command prompt (start -> run -> 'cmd'), then navigate to the extracted directory. Run these 4 commands in this order (replace X with your memory card's drive letter):

4.mspformat X

5.format X: /fs:fat

6.xcopy /KE ms\* X:\

7.msinst X MSIPL.BIN

you may have to hit Y for yes at the end of msinst X MSIPL.BIN so do that.

once this process is over place your stick into your PSP.
then put in your PANDORA BATTERY

and your away.

this worked on a slim 3.71OF psp for me and it is now a 3.71 m33-2

the format X: /fs:fat command copied no files (maybe its not posed to?)

for the msinst X MSIPL.BIN i had to msinst (enter) (space) (psp drive letter) (space) msipl.bin but try their way first since ive seen multi ppl say it that way
