Slight problem with Xvid playback,
After getting a whole heap of Xvid and DivX movies most of them played back fine with the exeption of two Xvids which played back with no sound (video perfect). However after reinstalling windows i followed the instructions for installing the most common codecs used (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608) the same Xvids now no longer play back at all and cause an error in any player i have tried. I'm assuming that this is a codec problem but i have tried so many im starting to think maybe the files might be screwed?? anyone got any ideas??

P.S i have tried to analyse the files through GSpot and both come up fine with no problems and finds several audio and video codecs that are compatible with the file

i have since relised i was missing an AC3(?) audio decoder which i downloaded from
http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/OdioDec/OdioDec.zip
however the players still have errors and VirtualDub reports no audio decompressor could be found so im stuck again
heh heh

Well i found the problem not four hours after posting this message, but i thought id post the answer for anyone else....

First i uninstalled all the codecs except the standard windows codecs, reinstalled the xvid(video) codec, i then found that all the AC3 decoders i had downloaded only worked with DivX (for some reason) however i found one on this site in the codec section and installed that. Problem solved thank god and thank bloody Afterdawn
