as i've read here on the forum, i;ve tried running the mpegs through TMPGEnc dvd author (in the hope of it generating necessary VOB, bup files to burn to DVD), but i keep getting error: the video sequence header is incorrect / a video sequence header is necessary for every GOP in a standard dvd. what is a GOP?! am i working with the right programme to do what i want?

someone, please help...!

You are right that you should use somthing like Tmpgenc to convert your files about. But did you first find out what format the file are in (i.e. PAL or NSTC - You need to know the FPS).

If you did check this out before starting are you then trying to convert the files to the other format (say PAL to NTSC) while you are using Tmpgenc? As I dont think this will work.

Edit - Also try shortening the file name / path, that might cause you problems.
