Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to exploit a memory card for use with Hdloader, without a psx game. I have one, but... my system can't boot psx games.

I have a dms 3 plus chip in it, that was damaged during install years ago and never has been able to boot up psx games. Is there another way that it can be done?

Also, since I am new to all this, is it even needed if you have a mod chip? I'm not trying to bypass and play pirated games. I guess I am unsure of the memory card exploits use. I mean I know once on the harddrive it is the equivalent of a pirated game, but I am unsure of what exactly the exploit does. Basically, if it simply allows you to play backups, then the mod chip would probably cover that, but is it something that allows more? I guess I am just hoping someone comes along and says I don't even need it.

Most people use the exploit to load backups, either off a burned disc or a HD. Though you can also use it to load homebrew. If you have a chip installed and the only flaw is that it doesn't play PSX games, then your ok. Basically the exploit is cheap alternative to running unsigned code.
