I have had a fat PS2 for a while, but recently it just stopped working. When i try to turn it on, the red standby light is on, then when i press the reset button, the green light comes on, but the instant the blue light(open disc tray) comes on, both the green and blue light turn off, then the red standby light comes on again.

Does the tray actually open when you press eject before it goes to Red light again or not?
