ON DVD2AVI it reports that its aspect ratio is 4:3, as i use this infomation to encode (4:3 PAL 625 lines)...it looks very dark on the preview....any suggestions would be very appreciated.

It shows it __exactly__ like it is on DVD, AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI nor the DVD rippers do _anything_ to the video files, they don't drop the quality, they don't draw funny faces over the video and they don't change the brightness values. So, it is in your eyes or your DVD player (or TV) has brightness values normally set higher than in your monitor.
