I recently upgraded to the Elite. I have a 50" Samsung 5084 1080p plasma, my surround sound reciever has 2 HDMI outputs, one has my Directv HDMI, the other has my PS3 (my blue-ray player), my question is, do I lose any quality using the component cables with the optical audio cable vs. using HDMI directly to my TV?

i would think you lose a little quality with out your HDMI cable
