I am having problems because I burnt my backup of Pro evolution Soccer 2008 Wii edition, among others, and, when i play the back up the graphics look horrible. Can anyone help me out?? Is there something wrong with the .iso file or is it normal for backups to experience this? Is my burner making the mistakes? Is it the discs Im using??
All the .par2 files were fine none of the .r0 were bad(meaning none had invalid checksum nor missing)
My burner is a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E (I have a intel macbook)
I am using Verbatium dvd-r and burning them at 2x, just to be safe.
Please if anyone can help me I would be eternally grateful.
I have a wasabi chip and so far its awesome! I recommend it to anyone.
Thanks

I havent been able to see any difference between my origionals and backups. Also, I feel that degradation of the iso would cause it to become unreadable before it casued a noticable degration of graphics.

You know thats what I thought but the discs are readable. And there have been a lot of people who have already downloaded PES2008 and no one had complained. I know the Wii isn't a graphic powerhouse but PES2008 looked like PS1. Its really bad, it also happened on a few other games. Try to notice this difference when you play an original and a backup. hopefully someone out there will be going through the same thing.

I havent played PES08 but I checked today with nearly all the games I have. Zelda, MP3, SMG, No More Heroes and a couple others (couldnt compare brawl backup to origional as I havent updated my wiikey to 1.9s yet)
My TV is only standard def but I cant see even the slightest difference between the origionals and backups. I will admit that games look 20x better when I'm over a friends house on his hi def TV.
I dont know what might be causing the problem but the only thing I can think of to try is to use a different burner.

you see like I have HDTV and standard def. and PES2008 looked like crap on both. I will use my brothers burner hopefully it will be better. Since I have a intel mac I D/L the iso on the windows side of it and the copied it to the macside do you think that could be the problem? like lost data between the teo operating systems?

There is absolutely no relation between how do graphics look like and if its a back up or not... HOWEVER back ups may run slower than originals WHICH may cause slowdowns, (thats it).

Its an exact copy of the image file
There wouldnt be a difference as far as I know
True about running slower
Its takes the laser longer
Its not used to the type of Dvd
It also could be a bit noiser
I enjoy going down to the store, and spending money on blank dvds.

I dont think that could happen, but then this problem shouldnt exist either.
How exactly do the games look worse? lower framerate? lower qualitity textures? lower polygon count?

The frame rate is normal its the lower quality texture and lower polygon count. I mean just picture any 2d games from like SNES or N64 and then make it 3d. thats what it looks like on screen. On the players feet you can see the squares instead of rounded smoothness. The game does not studer, I have the same quality issue with Resident Evil Wii Editdion.

Reduced qualitity textures I could almost see happening but I cant comprehend what kind of error could cause a reduction in polygons without it totally destroying the game.
This is one of the most bizarre errors I've ever heard of.

I could but it wouldn't be a screen capture it would be from my camera.

On most of the older games the graphics are bad but the newer ones tend to be better. My confusion still remains about PES2008. Ive tried everything and it still looks like crap. I tried it on my HDTV and Standard def. tv. Anymore suggestions?

That's the most funny stuff I ever heard :)
Graphics degradation is not possible as it has been said, slower gaming, random freezes or even blank screens are possible problems. but at the polygonal and texture level, that's virtually impossible.
Do you have the original copy? Does it run normally. My best guesses are either a bad iso or a hardware problem.
But still, I still cant take off my mind that's impossible :)
