He says this has happened before he got cfw sometimes he clicks on menus and it will start to load then just stop sometimes it will just keep loading forever and once in awheil when he clicks on a menu it crashes with the blue screen and just now he was about to play sonic rivals 2 and got a red screen with sever error call services and support (in many languages)when he pressed x for the "this games autosaves at certain points press x to continue" could this be a flash 1 prob or sumthin any way to fix it he can get by with it but id like to fix it if i could.

Yes, that is definitely a flash1 problem. it sounds like there is something wrong with the recovery. I would Hold R while booting up and recover the firmware. It sounds like there is a region problem with the UMD itself.

I think that would be the best option to do it. If that doesn't work then I would go ahead and do a fresh install or even upgrade your CFW.

LOL... Me and my friends call these screens "the blue screen of death" and worse, "the red screen of death". This happened to mine once. Re-installing the firmware should relieve the problem.

if you mean to reinstall firmware it was happening on his ofw also and since then he has change to 3.90 m33-3 or did you mean to reformat flash1 if so what would happen would he need to backup the ms or any negative effects? would he need a new nand dump afterward?

Flashing his PSP and updating the Firmware at the samething. He is going to flash the flash1 location and change the PSP over to something else.

Yes, his memory stick information should be stored on a computer so that he doesn't lose it when he does a reinstall.

Nand dump shouldn't be needed.
