Hi Guys
So the other day i was modding the theme on my PSP Phat and i ended up completly bricking it.
Now cause i'm in Japan at the moment i dont have access to my sisters PSP so i bought a PSP tool battery off of Amazon Japan. Now heres the first problem i bought the slim one by accident can i still use it with the phat psp.
I opened it up and had a look at the instructions and it says to charge you need to load up you PSP and it will start charging once in there. Well duh its bricked i cant get into the menu thats why i bought the sodding thing. So i guess question number 2 is how am i supposed to charge it now.
I will have access to my sisters PSP when i get home next week but i really needed if for the long plane journey. I can afford to go out and get the Phat version of the Pandora battery tool but if i have to have another PSP to do it is there any point.

Hey,

No, you can't use the slim service mode battery for a Phat PSP. You will also need to have a magic memory stick with the Service battery, I hope that you are aware of that. It's pretty simple, just follow the guide here if you had the OFW Original here

Alternatively if you had a Custom Firmware you will need to use this link

custom firmware only

You don't need to be booted up for it to charge. I have a Datel service mode battery and it charges just fine while not booted up into a menu, I believe that to be more of suggestion then anything.
