Xbox 360 Won't Open The Drive

ok i was using the two wire trick to get into the b mode on the hitachi drive. So it didnt get into the b mode but the xbox 360 won't open the tray. When i press the eject button in the dashboard it says "opening", "closing tray" "reading" but it doesn't do anything. So i did the two wire trick and it worked, booted windows and flashed the drive but the xbox 360 still won't open the drive. Oh yeah when i hit eject on windows the drive does open. So is there a fix for this?

Sounds like the drive is stuck in Mode B. If you press the eject button twice does it open?

nope. i hit the eject button a lot of times but nothin happens. When i hit the eject button the dashboard thinks is working because it tells me thats its ejecting i hit it again it says closing then reading. It acts normal and i don't think is fried since i could use it on my computer and it works.

Is the drive installed and the 360 put together, or is it just sitting in place with the 360 case off?

There is a way to manually open it. First you will want to unplug the power for a few minutes to let your Xbox reset. Re-attach the power cord and see if you can now eject your drive.

If that did not work turn the power off and unplug it. Remove the face plate on you Xbox console. You will need a thick paper clip or something similar. Straighten one end of it out. With the face plate removed you will see 2 small holes right underneath the DVD player and one hole to the right.

For your Hitatchi DVD drive go for the first hole on the left. This requires the most pressure to get the gear to turn. You will see the tray start to move.

take your time and do not push too hard in case you are missing the correct spot. Once the tray starts to eject you can pull on it slightly to help it open.

ANeophyte its just sittin there open on the xbox360.

and barnyboot the tray opens if i open it from windows so that might not be the problem.

Is it still connected to pc? Or have you reconnected the sata cable put it back together
And turned your 360 back on
