Im using Avidemux to convert an MP4 TO AVI or DVD it's new to me this program.
Ther is a box which says video and one at the bottom that says format.
Can someone please tell me which goes where?

What video/audio do you have in the mp4container? Do you want to play that in a standalone Divx certified player or something?Depending on what you have,you might be able to get away without re-encoding the video and/or audio(no quality loss), and just changing the container to avi.You might need to re-encode only audio and not video, or neither. In this case you choose:
Video->Copy.
Audio->Copy
Format->AVI
If the video/audio will not play as is, and needs re-encoding,then choose the proper codec instead of "Copy"- for example Xvid for video and mp3/AC3 for audio.
I would not use Avidemux to convert to DVD. Use DVD Flick instead, it does not just the conversion, but also the authoring and all, the compilation will be ready to burn to disc(or burn it with ImgBurn).
