Can anyone tell me what is the best software to use to convert avi to dvd please.
In the past i have used WinAvi, but i always seem to get mixed results with this. A common error with this is that the converted movie plays ok on a standalone player, but it intermitantly has sections of pixcelation which is pretty annoying.
Any help would be great.

I am looking for something to convert my movie files to dvd so that my kids can watch them on our dvd players. I read what was said about dvdflick and I have a few questions about it.

1) Would it be the only thing that I would need to download to convert and burn the dvd's? If it does just convert them, would the burner on my Dell computer burn the dvd's, or would I need something different for that?

2) Is it easy to use, are the directions easy to follow? I am not very computer literate. I have taught myself alot of things, but there are many more that I don't know. It has been an ordeal for me googling to try to figure out the best thing to get for this. I don't want to install a bunch of stuff on my computer that won't work, or that I don't need.

So if anyone would be kind enough to help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, please give me very specific instructions on what to do and what I need. Thanks

That could be a media problem.

Looking for a new burner? Check here.

The reviews also help to determine which media gives the best results.

Basically, yes, it is easy-breezy to do and download ImgBurn(one of the best burners out there, free!)so you can burn to DVD. You could have DVD Flick set to automatically burn, however, I would save the compilation to your Hard Drive first, check make sure there are no pixelation /audio-video sync problems...And if all okay, burn to disc.

Okay, you will have to forgive my ignorance, but what does it mean to save the compilation to my hard drive first. And how would I go about doing this?

Also, you said that dvdflick would also burn the movies after converting them, so would I really even need to download another burner? Sorry, just need clarification as to what exactly I need and what will work the best.

Thank you so much for answering. Also what type of dvd's should I burn the movies to. Is one type better than others for this?
