what exactly does linux do for the ps3 or what can i do with linux

well, i don't know for sure, as i don't yet have a PS3, but i'm pretty sure the main point of it is to allow your ps3 to function as a standard desktop PC would. meaning, you can use it to surf the web, get email, play solitaire, you know, normal PC type stuff.
