Is there a program out there where I can change files like .avi to mpeg vice versa, or wma to mp3, basically just change amongst what I want to change??? I am probably just dreaming.

As far as I am aware, a program that changes any media file into any other media file does not exist in the wild - so the answer is probably NOPE!!!

Yes, you are probably just dreaming (it WOULD be nice to have such a program available though, why don't you develop one?)

On the positive side:

There ARE a considerable number of specially crafted utilities to cover most media conversions, each good at what they do.

Think of it as the difference between having a Swiss-Army-Knife kinda multi-tool AND a toolbox with all the correct tools in...
