I get an on/off flash on the display as it goes from normal to dark and then back to normal and continues to repeat the cycle. It appears on the LCD screen as well as through the eyepiece. It records to tape the same way.

I really like the camera and would like to use it this summer on a 3 week out-of-country trip, but need to know 1: what is the likely cause of the problem, and 2: what is the likely cost of having the unit serviced and repaired.
