i dont play any of my back up games online,so i dont use xbox live gold,just silver for down loading trailers and demos.now ive had my drive flashed will i beable to carry on down loading demos, or will i get my console bricked or banned by a microsoft update,

it still has the possibility of getting banned, and you wont be able to download anything at all.

Disc or No Disc.. you still risk being banned... If you don't want to be banned I suggest 2 consoles.. 1 for backups and 1 for LIVE....

Hold up...I thought Microsoft can check to see if you are using a backup disc and ban you...the only other way is to check the firmware, now what you are suggesting is that Microsoft actually reads the drive's firmware? From a remote location? That doesn't sound right...But then again, I'm no expert.
