Hi , been playing cod 4 for a couple of months now and i am struggling....only rank 37.....was wondering if anybody can give ma any advice.....i just cant seem to shoot people even when im shhoting straight at them with the red dot sight...then bang...one shot and im dead....lol...thanks in advance.....add me for a game if you like its RaffatheRed

It could be a case of bullet lag, or your shooting at the wrong time, ie: when they're in a spot where you can hit them but odds are you can't completely kill them; if they don't see you then don't pull the trigger until you're sure you can take them down or else you'll just give yourself away needlessly. And use a silencer if you can, it really helps.

A simple bullet lag test that I do whenever I join any game is shoot my gun at the wall as soon as I join to see how long it takes for the bullets to hit.

another thing is what type of mode that you are playing. I have personally found that headquaters gives me the most points per game. I have never done any of the tactical missions for I cant speak for those. In some games of playing headquarters I can get between 600-800 points and that is not completing any challenges and that is of course I am on the winning team. On the loosing team I can get between 300-500. My favorite is capture the flag but you dont get much on that one. I have also found that more and more people now are using juggernaut and I know I hit the about 9 times and they just wont die sometimes. anyways if you want to add me to your friends list my user is leo8013

I'm 55, 10th prestige and I can honestly say about 1/5 games lags. However, ranking up takes time. I have my golden guns and I'm done ranking up, but that was with 19 days playing time. However, domination is good to get kills with headquarters works for points but you can get screwed easily too.

well guys , thanks for the information, i will try all your suggestions out this weekend. I usually play Domination and some times headquarter. I usuallu use the m4 carbine with red dot sight, any side arm , special grenades , deep penetration and martydom.....but im still getting shot to bits every time......if i get a good game i will maybe get about 20 - 25 kills...mostly though about 12-18.....total playing time is probably about 22 hrs....i will add you to my friends list Leo as well and see if we can get a game...thanks again all

Yea do the lag test that canuckerz mentioned, it works. Also if you want to rank up at a steady pace, try to get a silenced ak with bandolier, stopping power and that deep bullet thing. It works really well personally.

someone also told me after you are done ranking up you can reset your rank, start from the begining and work your way back up they said once you do that 3 times you will unlock other medals and stuff....does anyone know if that is true b4 i do it??

shawn, apparently when you get to level 55 you then have to make a decision ..either stay as you are or go into prestige mode...which starts again from rank 1......but the medals have a different background i think....this can be done 10 times i believe....
