I have been burning backups for a long time and writing several ISOs to my hard drives. I just recently realized when I went to burn one of them that the newer ISOs are somehow corrupt.
I use RipIt4Me + DVD Decrypter + clean up VOBs + DVD Shrink. I know that the video is intact (not yet corrupt) in DVD Shrink, but the ISOs produced are bad. I have tried using every mark of Virtual Rom and as well burning with both ImgBurn/Nero 6. They burn/mount successfully, but show up as a Blank Disc. In the DVD player, I get Format Unsupported. In trying to analyze the ISOs with UltraISO, it says that the ISO is invalid or corrupt.
Note that this is the case in several ISOs. I'm not interested in fixing this going forward (as I can just use debugging to figure out where it happened and use different SW); I am moreso interested in potentially salvaging my existing ISOs. Has anyone had this problem besides me? At this point, this post is a last resort before realizing them to be lost.
I believe I found a possible solution. This does not completely explain what the problem is but my output ISO files are no longer corrupt and DVD Shrink is now working as it did before. Let me clarify first that I only use DVD Shrink (to rip and author) and DVD Cloner IV (to burn.) I have never used DVD Decrypter, RipIt4ME, FixVTS, or anything else like that until this problem started, in which I used DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD but DVD Shrink was still producing corrupt ISO files. Back to the problem at hand, after hours of searching, aching fingers from the command prompt, messing around with the registry, and many other things, I came to the conclusion it was a combination of the registry slot associated with DVD Shrink and the installer file. Here is what I did to solve the problem: I downloaded the DVD Shrink installer (Ver. 3.2.0.15) from roughly 15 different sites but none of them worked when installing them to my system drive (C:/.) Then I installed DVD Shrink to my external hard drive and, with a sigh of relief, DVD Shrink no longer produced corrupt ISO files. I then decided to try all of the installers, and discovered that only about 5 of the 15 actually worked. This is installer worked and is from a reputable site: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVD_Shrink.htm So, try that and tell me what happens. Good Luck!
