Problem with D2PRO + Wii-Clip

I just received my Wii-clip + D2PRO yesterday and it seems to be giving me problems already. It's fully functional from what I can tell, but the connection to the board is a bit rough. I can't seem to get that genuine 'click' or snug and tightness that the manufacturer said I should. To top it all off I may have damaged some of the pins from constantly trying to get the chip to connect (which I have done successfully about 3 times but seems to disconnect functionally, not physically fall out of place, every time I turn off my Wii) to the board.

I guess what I'm asking is for some advice on how the chip should connect and whether I should use tape or not to keep the chip from moving out of place. Thanks for your time.
