i keep hoping those 'forums' are cut adrift, hopefully one day; until then Kevlar suits to the ready, with extra powerful cattle prods and police 'stingers' being as it's the school holidays

just a idea....
hell ye need to drop Leaflets or Hezbollah rockets to clean out the console forums.
or Imposing a curfew like only posting there for 30 min a day...or A draft resolution aimed at ending the fighting and carrying on there..
or send in the un..."O" hell i do not think Hezbollah would go into the console forums.........

My bitch for the day is a politically incorrect one. I spent over an hour interviewing someone in french; he has a green card and is here legally (I think). When I asked him how long he's been in Philadelphia, he said "Since 1973"! Damn, I almost lost my temper. In 1973, I barely spoke english but have managed to do pretty well for myself over the years ... though I admit I was fit to be tied when they kept me back in my first year of high school. My parents, brothers and sister learnt to be fluent in english though the folks always retained a bit of an accent. How can you live in the city of Philadelphia for thirty three years without learning a word of english? Jeez, when in Rome, you know?

That standing phone was in my grandmother's house when I was a kid. She had a 3 digit telephone number. It was fun to pick it up and talk to the operator for her to ring other grandma's house.

@garmoon ... I remember that but I was young, then we had four families to a line and it rang differently for each household.
MY grandma use to wear a hearing aide but in those days, it was just the earpiece and the amplification device was on a chain around her neck. When she spoke on the phone, she held the receiver upside down talking into the mouthpiece but listening with the earpiece at her chest. It always made us giggle.

F*ck the console forums, Jan is a top member. Why do we put up with all this crap from these f*ckwit console tw*ts?
Make Jan a mod & she will rid us of all the knobs in no time!
Then we would all be happy. can't drD do something about this? His site is being screwed up by pillocks.

as i just said in jan's blog, i used to prowl the console forums and ban like 20+ idiots each day, but it just doesn't help :P

Pillock, is indeed, a marvellous word!
If Jan was given the ban button it would help enormously. I for one would have no qualms in backing her up 100%. I do not think that there are enough mods, Jan knows so much & is such a valuable asset to our forum. I can see no reason why she cannot be made a mod.
I would hate to lose such a highly valued, highly respected & incredibly knowledgeable member through some wishy washy excuses. We simply cannot afford to lose members like this.
Something has to be done as more & more members are leaving. There seem to be little that admin are doing (or are willing) about it.
When will some of the top people realise what is happening?
We seem to be giving our site away to these complete & utter f*uckwits. Why are they being allowed to win? Why aren't the views of the long timers listened to?

i use both xp-poop and win 2000 on a a-b-c switch...
meaning i switch hard drives instead of using one boot fot both systems..
2000 on a,2000 on b, and xp-poop on c....
b-is where i do all my dvd ripping and burning..and it never go's to the net..all it is,is win 2000 sp-4 and no updates........
i for got i have another computer that i use along side of my maim computer on my desk-top i use to serf the net and logged on here and its a 2000 computer..called the ash-tray computer....

Oh, I see, nice :-D
I use 2 comps, one for downloading/seeding and surfing and one for burning, both on XP HE, used to have a laptop too (XP Corp) untill the screen light burned out (costs £200 to replace), so thats going in the scrap heap, will buy another and install Mandriva on it, I'm very new to Linux :-p

It's so simple to use and if its reliable as its supposed to be, I'll be in love, I've had enough with Windows, years of trouble shooting with it..
Hopefully, Mandriva will save me a lot of stress :-)
