Sounds like she has some adware on her login. You can try running ad-aware (link here) or spybot (link here) search and destroy to clean it up. Also make sure that she doesn't have anything in her startup folder that causing IE to open. Finally, after you've cleaned all of the adware, try running hijackthis (link here)to clean up anything that runs in the background. You can run msconfig, but hijackthis is more powerful and will show you more information.
Quote:1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Manage Add-ons.
3. Click the name of the add-on.
4. Use one of the following methods:
? Click Update ActiveX to replace the add-on with the current version. This option is not available for all add-ons.
? To enable an add-on, click Enable, and then click OK.
? To disable an add-on, click Disable, and then click OK.
IE is intergrated into windows so turning off is'nt really an option, the closest you can get to that is make ff the default browser, however you still have an issue which needs to be sorted, don't forget you can't update the OS without IE,when was the last time you did update windows, use the windows update button instead of autoupdate then hit the custom button, you'll find extra stuff for the OS

when you say startup folder what are you talking about
Click on the Windows Start button, and then select Programs, and then select Startup. Anything that is in this folder will automatically startup when the user logs in.
