What's going on, guys!

Well, I was just wondering if a kind person could point me to some reading about how to install the memory card exploit.

I've read a few, but in my case, I'm using a chipped PS2 and I want to make a memory card + USB extreme combo for an unchipped one, or alternatively, for a chipped PS2 with a broken CD Drive.

I would greatly appreciate anyone's advice on this.

Oh and btw, I'm not a noob. I've been here forever, just never done MC exploits. =D

Ok man, here is what you want to do.
Go to SKSapps.com and down the independence compiler--->link

-Run through the steps in the program
-Create your bin/cue files and burn to CD-R
-Run on your modded system with mem card (make sure it has enough space for exploit) in slot-1
-Wait a bit

For the system with a broken CD drive, you first need to confirm that it has a chip installed. If so does it support DEV modes (DEV1/DEV2)?

Oh yeah, the broken CD drive PS2 is chipped for sure, and it support bot DEV modes. I used it as my main mod for almost a year until the drive died.

Now i have a new chipped PS2 and a chipped PS2 that won't read CDs/DVDs most of the time.

So with the compiler CD I should be able to put the exploit on the memory card. In the chipped PS2, is it then a matter of using that memory card and a hard drive and booting it?

Also, will a Mem card/ Hard Drive combo work on an unchipped PS2? I've heard rumors..

For chipped console you are correct.
For the unchipped system you will need a PSX game (trigger disc) to start the exploit.

Thanks so much for the help, I'll be pulling that all together tonight and recording my results.

Just as a last question, for the unchipped PS2 and the PS1 trigger disc, how does the swapping method work? Will it eject the tray after the trigger disc?

Thanks again.

Once the trigger disc triggers the exploit. 'mc:BOOT/BOOT.ELF' will boot off the memcard. The tray will not eject on its own. What .ELF file that may be is up to you (chosen during step 2 of the independence compiler).

I suggest you choose ULaunch ELF v4.12 as it will allow you to boot other .ELF's off the mem card, HD, and USB drives.
