psp sound problem plz help.!

lately my psp has been acting really wierd with the sound. i onloy use my psp for music purposes. alright ill cut to the chase. the sound doesn't come out of the 2 bottem speakers as it would with no earphones in it. the music just plays with no sound. secondly the music only comes out of the right earphones. i think i must have broke it or something. because i remember in the bottom left of the psp there is the earphone port. thius will be kinda hard to explain, so imagine right of the earphone hole there is those 2 slots for the psp headphones, ok that wil tilted inwards into the psp, leaving the headpghone holes tilting upwards. i think this must have broke something. but look, here is the wired part... i bought new earphones thinking that was the problem.. they were gold tipped for the jack, the ipod is silver tipped. so it still didnt play out of both earphones just the right. now the weird part if i stick the gold tipped earphones halfway in the earphone jack the music comes out of the botom speakers, thats weird!!! i nkow this is alot but plz help me fix this....

Your headphone jack may have come loose from the wifi board.
I've had problems like this before where I could only hear sound from the speakers when the headphone plug was inserted halfway. I fixed mine by taking it back apart for the umptenth time and resoldeing the leg back to the board. Voila Sound!

ok thanks for the info but im alittle to late... i was trying to fix tthe problem and i totally busted the whole jack part of the psp. now the thing wont even turn on.... it just flashes the green power light like normal, the screen stays black and then it turns off in about 3 secs. i know its charged and i know i broke it.....ty for the reply though

i think you probably got water in the speakers because i've got water on speakers once and the sound kinda faded

Either buy the new part needed or solder it on. If possible post a picture of the damage done. When it flashes and turns of I think it means its bricked or something or could be a diagnostic code by Sony.

ummm no ididnt get water on it, i think the damage was done because i keep it in my bookbag all day at school and ithen i broke it... but i dont know if i can get a picture because i dont know were i put it lol... ty for all the info but i think its a done deal.. im closing the the thread in like a day or so.. ty
