also you should check out forums.xbox-scene.com and check out the BST (Buy Sell Trade) thread. there are lots of people there selling drives for cheap.

BTW are you looking for a specific drive? cause I've seen some on ebay for $35-$40

I bought my ms28 that I use for ripping off eBay for ~$35. And it's new. Just look through sellers feedback before you bid if you're worried about getting ripped off.

isnt a pain to have to keep opening your 360 when you want to rip a file? wouldn't it be easier to buy a kreon drive?

It's not in a 360. It stays hooked to my pc and is flashed with 0800 firmware. I bought it to replace my Kreon drive. It was cheaper and the Kreons are known to make bad rips randomly. I sold the Kreon and it paid for the ms28.

I'm off with the times. You can hook a ms28 to pc and use that to rip?

wait you can use those and not have them hooked up to the 360?

where does the power come from?

thats awesome, i have a ms-25 sitting around collecting dust and i don't use it for rips because i thought you had to connect it to the 360.

I bought a connectivity kit WAYY back when they were first released so I wouldn't have to use the 360s power for flashing and for getting Hitachis into mode b.

So when it's not used for flashing, it stays connected to the pc/ms28.

The ms28 is flashed with 0800 firmware. That way it's permently detectable in Windows. You don't have to keep flashing back and forth. So there's no fooling around when I want to rip a game. Just pop it in and go.

The 0800 firmware can be found bundled with some of the original Xtreme firmware. You can grab it off Xbins.

Yep. You can use both the Benq and the Samsung 360 drives for ripping.

I got the original Team Xecuter. But there's been a couple different ones which have come out since then, so you'd have more of a choice now.

It came with the board for the dvd drive, plus another board for connecting the hard drive to your pc.
