This is my first time ever install and I'm having problems. I have a D2B with firmware 3.2U. I'm pretty sure all points on the wiikey are connected correctly with no bridges as I checked with a multimeter. I lifted pad 4 but installed to a leg which checks out for continuity.

My problem is that when all points are connected, no backups or originals are recognized. An original disc will spin for about 6 seconds, and stop completely When I disconnect any 1 point, originals will play again. I lifted pad 4 because of going back and trying again because it will originally wouldn't read backups and originals, but now I think I may have had it correct the first time since it keeps happening. I've been trying to get information about the different firmwares and such but I can't understand it really. Could this be a problem with my wii being a high firmware (3.2U) and the wiikey itself not being up to it? A fried wiikey? I don't know what else to think as the soldering looks alright and obviously can't be too bad if it works with all points connected but 1. I looked around on other boards for this problem and some say it's because of 3.2 and having a low wiikey firmware.

I tried a config disc and recovery but those didn't work out. Config it tried to read for a while with a lot of clicks then gave me an error message. The recovery acted the same as an original, spinning for a few seconds and stopping. But I didn't exactly use high quality media (Sony and Dynex Dvd+R) so that may be it.

So what do you think it is, busted chip or bad firmware? And what should I do about it?
