I managed to burn myself a copy of smash bros brawl on a single layer dvd but the game itself (which will only run in 50hz) is really blurry. It's actually a lot worse than most wii games that are already quite blurry, on my version even the menus are blurry.
Is this because of the fact that it's a downgraded version of the full game or because I should turn flicker off and set to 60hz?
If the dvd5 version is worse quality than the double layer version I'll have to download the dl version.
The single layer versions is not a downgraded version of the full version. Its just the first layer of the game, containing the online and vs modes of the game. Most of the second layer is cutscenes so not including them mostly just makes the SSE mode crash when it tried to call up any cutscenes on that second layer.
yea that's what I thought, it's just that if the real game is actually like that, it is extremely blurry/fuzzy compared to the video trailers and pics. I've heard turning flicker off helps, but if that was the case why the hell wouldn't they set flicker off as default?
I'll try it anyway and see if it helps.
Can you only play in 60hz with flicker set to off? because as soon as I set it to 60 the screen just goes blue
You're a pal user I guess? There seem to be alot of graphical issues playing US games on pal wii's. I dont know too much about fixing the problems myself but there are other threads on the issue.
I'm running USA Brawl with a USA Wii hooked up to my 720p/1080i Samsung 32" using Component cables. I have configured the display in the Wii Settings for Widescreen and 480p. Brawl looks fine as far as 480p goes. Remember that the Wii cannot really do true HD images.
yes I know that the wii does not do true HD, as I said every one of my wii games looks slightly blurred, it's just that this one looks unusually blurred, it's so blurred it hurts your eyes after a while...
I've looked up but can't seem to find anyone with this problem wether ntsc, pal or ntsc to pal. A lot of people are saying the game looks blurry just like any other wii game but no one seems to have this problem. It may be because I have it in 50Hz? is it possible that my HD tv doesnt support 50Hz very well?I will try using 60 as soon as I get home.
