im trying to make an iso file for men in black using shrink but the file is to large. im compressing at 43% and after i remove the languages that i don't want, im still a sliver in the red. do i need all the english audio files for the movie to play? should i keep the audio and get rid of the english 5.1 file.
dvdfab decrypter to rip
fixvts to clean the file
dvd shrink to transcode
do the movie only cutting out all the extras previews etc. just keep the 5.1 audio uncheck the rest
you could shrink the menu size i find that the best way to burn fils..
i saved over 1gb with a film just by shrinking the menu!!!
the film was "walking tall"
1)You could reathor for main movie only. That will get the compression down, but also lose menu function.
If english is your language, AC3 5.1 English should be the only audio stream ticked.Try unticking AC2 and some others and see if the red bar disappears.
You can also shrink it twice. You'll have 2 folders on your harddrive,so make sure you have plenty of empty hd space.
With that much compression, I'd use the AEC enhancement of Max Smoothness. It'll take longer, but well worth the playback improvement. Too much compression, and you may notice blockiness during playback. Also tick the Deep analysis.
great , another reason to use the 5.1 channel audio only is the directors comments are in the 2 channel audio and sometimes defualts to it when playing back the DVD. the 5.1 will mix down to 2 channel or mono if thats all you have anyway
If a dvd has 5.1 ch english, then it's the only one I tick.Sometimes AC2 is the only option.
Subpictures: I untick majority of them, especially the small 4 mbs or less. Now if you see around 10 mbs on the subpicture size, there's going to be quite a bit of subtitling that you will need.Examples: Syriana,Babel,Apacalypto,Bella.
