Hello, I am new to the forums but have been trolling a bit. First off, thanks for the great info...
But to my problem. I have tried everything under the sun to rip hellboy with no luck. I have tried: shrink, imgburn, anydvd/clone2dvd, dvdfab hd, dvdcloner, AND handbreak all erroring out. Any suggestions??

Is this an original Hellboy or a Backup copy that you are trying to rip?
Clean and inspect the disc. Exchange it for another copy if damaged..If unable to replace it,take the disc to a large rental store with industrial buffers.
Crc errors: Majority are due to sratched/dirty/or even bum presses. Some are encryption related-Sony,Columbia releases.
Crc errors can also pop up when trying to re-rip backups.Errors amass up when burned too fast, crappy media, sticker labels, etc.
There's a bad sector/s on that disc. The reading drive is trying to get through that bad sector,so it's keeps going around in circles. Eventually,it'll stop and kick out the crc error.

Even new discs which are right out of the box and play in a stand alone dvd player may not rip and still be a bad pressing.

I always use eyeglass cleaner for plastic lens along with lint-free silk cloths. I even have to clean the brand new discs.
Usually there's a big fat fingerprint on the disc and it will trigger a crc error.
My 20 month old daughter kinzie loves to get her grubby little paws on my discs.

My disc is clean,,,,however still getting the crc error......aside from a "bad pressed" disc..what else cud be the problem?I'm also using "Slysoft Any DVD"(which is what i've always used and never had any issues)I also have a Dvd cleaning technique that works great,,,i use lemon pledge and wipe outwards, as opposed to circular motion since dvd's dont read like records, with a coffee filter.

Then it's your disc or maybe your burner/ripping drive isn't up to the job; as far as i remember there's nothing funny protection-wise on this movie, DVD Shrink can even do it on it's lonesome..

^ Yup. Creaky's right on.
This one was a breeze to backup. I'd exchange your copy for a new one and try again. If you still have issues...you may need to peer curiously towards your drive.
