hi,first time posting in this section of the forum but id appreciate some advice please.
id like to get an SLR camera, one which would be suitable for taking pictures in nightclubs and concerts, mainly trying to catch good light shows etc.
is there a particular type of SLR camera that would suit this?or am i looking at different lenses to capture these settings?
real beginner questions i know...
could someone maybe point me in the direction of a guide for getting setup first time with an SLR?

thanks

I am glad you know what you want to shoot.

My recommendation would be to go with something simple and easy to use the more advance features of a camera that you purchase you may find out that all though the feature looks cool ask your self this question will i ever use it.? A simple question to ask a great example i purchased a digital SLR from Samsung called the pro 815 wonderfull camera if you can find one on ebay i paid 1,000 for mine new and i have no regreat's at all i really enjoy the camera and it is a nice beginner camera setup also try some manual 35mm cameras as well the limitation is how much you want to spend most high end SLRs even a used nikon will sent you back 500.00 to even 700.00 just for the body no lense so like i said it is up to you if you would like to see a great example of what the Samsung pro 815 can do go to

And see my freinds page he shoots with the same camera that i use and i love my Samsung.

Welcome to the world of photography.

You will have fun!!!

And remember for a beginner make sure you use this list

Beginner supply's

1. Light Meter even if the camera has one don't ever trust it it could be way off or worse.

2. a good printer your pictures are only as good as the printer and the paper on which you produce your images on.

3. a good beginner photo editing suite start with photoshop elements at 100.00 it is worth the price even if you are scanning 35mm pictures.

And have fun don't be uptight about what you shoot shoot everything everyone any where and have a blast.
