Okay, first I'd like everyone to know that I've read around 20 tutorials on modding your PSP and watched quite a few lengthy YouTube videos. However, everything that I've read/seen says that you need a "Pandora's Battery" as well as a "Magik Memory Stick". They also state that you need 2 PSP batteries, and 2 Pro Memory Stick Duos AND another PSP that is already running Homebrew to make the battery and to put the information on the memory stick.
Here's the problem -- I don't have money to just run out and blow on another battery pack, and no one around me even owns a PSP. I live in Barnesville, Georgia (Might as well be Hicktown) and it's horrible. There's like 2 people in the whole city who even know how to make their own email. :/ (Not really, but you get the point.)
Now, here's the information on my PSP:
It's a PSP Fat. It's one of the very first PSP's that EVER came out. It's running version 3.95 of the firmware (Released April 7th). I have two (2) SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo 1.0GB cards.
Here's what I want to do: I want to mod my PSP so that I can have custom themes, run homebrew kernels/firmwares, and play ROMs (As in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Diamond/Pearl.)
I don't, however, want to spend any extra money and I want to spend the least possible amount of time and effort while doing this.
I have AOL Instant Messenger and my ScreenName is "drxthirst". That will be the best way to contact me other than leaving messages here.
the only reason a second battery and memory stick is recommended is for futureproof reasons. also, for people who don't have access to a custom firmwarepsp, you MUST hardmod the battery. so if you hardmod incorrectly, you're pretty much screwed, and need another battery.
I say you're gonna have to shell out some money. cee43ja1 is right about the battery. You might as well either be prepared to buy a battery, or just buy the service battery creator datel makes.
Thanks for the guide, cee43ja1.
Also, in the guide, it mentions that if we have a fat PSP, then we can install the 1.5 firmware ... correct?
If this is the case, then after I've installed the 1.5 firmware, I could just drag and drop the Pokemon ROMs into my ISO folder on my PSP's memory stick and play the game?
*bump*.. i'm looking for this exact answer. Any help would be appreciated. I just want to make sure i can use larrylje's forum here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610313 to mod my psp running 3.95 with MB TA-082.. Thanks in advance!
