Well, I just recently read that you can play PSX games on your PSP. And I was like, ZOMG that's actually really really neat. I never respected my PSP until I actually read that. I'm not all up to date on mods and hacks for it so I never really pay it any attention.

So now I would like to know how I would go about doing this. I bought my PSP refurbished and it's currently updated to 3.8. I realized I need to downgrade to 1.5, but I don't really know how to go about everything and what I actually need to do. Keep in mind I don't have a PS3, so I was hoping to avoid that situation.

Thank you, and sorry for my complete and utter not understading of how amazing the PSP really is.

BATTERY MOD
READ PART ABOUT MAKING MEMSTIC FIRST OR YULL SCREW YOURSELF!!!!! the answer is simple, but doing it is hard. first u need to get a pandora battery off of ebay for about $60.00 or you can use your current battery for a hardmod (the word hard just means the type of mod it is...) if u hardmod your battery here ares some precautions-1)be careful, 2)use a guitar pick or a small sharp knife to pry open psp battery (use glove so u dont cut urself)(when using knife hold by tip of blade part and push till u hear a "pop" sound. dont push in to hard or u might destroy the battery and thats gameover. 3) theres a small risk of your battery creating a small scale explosion. (Lithium-ion plus heat=explosion. KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT!!!!!!!)

MEM STICK
then u have to make ur memory stick a magic memory stick (not magicgate....n00b.....) anyway look on google on how to do that. (get file on a site, then go on youtube on reference on how to do it. (u will need to buy a new battery if u hard mod ur current one.buy a new mem. stick to make into magic, because once u do, its useless for anything else. i suggest 512mb, nothing bigger, nothing smaller.oh by the way once battery is open, use safety pin to remove prong on battery. (u need to choose the right one. put the battery down the same way its put into the psp. once battery is open, look on the right side for a black chip labeled IC04 or C04 depending on ur psp. looking at battery still same way, look at the bottom right of the chip use the pin to CAREFULLY remove the bottom right pin. if a spark happens quickly blow on it to cool it off. once done snap the two casing of battery back together put in psp, and if it turns on but with a black screen, then that means u did it correctly. once magicmem. stick is created put pandora bat. and magicmem. in, u should get a special screen u will have 3 options, press X for new firmware, pressing anything else will brick ur psp. let it do what it has to do. it will say its done it might say press X to reboot, do it. turn on psp with normal battery and stick, go to system info and if it says 3.71 M33-3 or 3.71 M33, u successfully hacked ur psp. enjoy!! sorry for akin this so long....

oh by the way, hardmodding the battery might be harder for you than it was for me because i specialize in electronics...after all im gonna be an electrical engineer. i'm just about 16 years old and have a very bright future ahead of me. it will be hard but its still better than buying a $60.00 battery. ONLY DO THIS IF U ARE CONFIDENT ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING IF NOT GET SOMEONE THAT DOES.

Also, DONT buy off ebay unless you have no other alternatives.. They charge far too much

Fat Psp, Bought Day Of Release :D 1.50 > Various Other OFWs > 3.40 > 3.72 > Pandora..=]> 1.50 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.72 M33-4 > 3.90 M33-2 w/ 1.50 kernel

Slim Psp FINALLY 3.71 > Pandora-fied seconds after leaving the box ^-^ > 3.90 M33-2
