Hello i am at the latest firmware and i am playing my Brooktown High psp game. When i go to select "enable autosave" or when i just go to manually save, it is giving me this message...

"There is not enough space on the memory stick. At least 928 KB free space is needed to save this game"

My card is an 8 GB card. i have plenty of space on it and i dont have any other game saves stored. Other games i have played saved fine so far. What is going on?

it looks like you have a fake card or you are on an unsupported firmware. where did you buy your card and what firmware are you on and is it custom or official?

niehter one of those issues, because its the latest custom firmware and i got it from the guide on this website "GUIDE: Universal Unbricker V3 Using Official Firmware FAT/SLIM PSP.". The card is a sandisk from newegg.com.

are you on 3.90m33 (phat) with the v1 1.50 kernel

if so you will need to install the v2 1.50 kernel as it supports the 8gb cards

else formart the card and see if that helps

you can check to see if its fake (dont think it is if its from newegg)

to do this press triangle on the memory card icon and then go to information then if it says magic gate unknown then its a fake if it says supported the its a real one.

hope that helps

im on 3.90m33 (with a slim psp) and i don't think i did the kernel thing. What does this matter? how can i check what i have? and what i have now does support 8gb cars because its working with every other game.

dont worry about the kernel then its only for the fat

did you see if it was a fake?

also is the game a iso or umd

if its a iso it may be a problem with the game

also have you tried manualy saving it and see if that works

Just done a bit of research for you, and it seems as though that is a known bug with the game, noting to do with your card...

Originally posted by amazon.com (customer review):

This game has so much promise, but in its current state it's unplayable. There is a known bug (go to the FAQ section of the Konami website where they coyly hint at the problem) that prevents you from saving the game if you're using anything but a Sony-brand 256MB Memory Stick. I have a SanDisk 4GB card that the game won't save to. Trust me, there's nothing wrong with the card. The card, game and PSP were all brand new, bought the same day.

wow thanks for the research. so basically there is no way to play this game with a iso then? Because the game itself is over 256 KB, then i wont be able to use a 256KB memory card to run the game with a iso. The only way to play it is with the UMD?

The FAQ recommends using a card under 1 gig, see HERE. I do not have the game though, so i cannot test it for you. The FAQ recommends contacting them if you are trying to use a bigger card...however as you are not using the original that obviously isnt a good idea.

I just got the complete game & can't save it to any of my SanDisk 4GB sticks. I can save to my Sony 32MB MS & my SanDisk 1GB.

So, it is possible to convert your UMD game to a CSO, put it on a 1GB SanDisk MS & be able to save your progress. I used UMDGen v4, "Optimize"'d it & CSO'd it to level 9 & the game is now only 663MB. It works just fine too.

I'm wondering if the problem is that the game can't save to a "FAT 32" formatted 4GB MS', because I'm having no problem with my "FAT" formatted 32MB or my "FAT" formatted 1GB SanDisk.

if you have more than 2gigs free, then the system won't autosave correctly. i found that out when the autosave didn't work on SFA3.

fill up the memory stick so it's under 2gigs free.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
