Ok I have a UK Wii RV001 (Euro) on version 31.e with wiikey chip installed. I first upgraded to 1.9b and SMG did not still work. I have since upgraded to 1.9s and still mario loads in the title screen but I then get the message 'can't read disc'. I used wiibrickblocker to patch the file, reburnt and nothing. All other backups work - I've wrecked so many DVD's now am totally fed up!!! CAN SOME PLEASE HELP? IS IT SOMETHING OBVIOUS? AM I JUST NOT SEEING THINGS ANY MORE AFTER READING TONES AND TONES OF INFO?? lol. If anyone could help me out here be much appreciated.
Is Pal Version, as is ghost Squad. I've tried without brickblocking, same result...can you see why it's driving me crackers? Normally I find a way round these things...but not this time grrrrrr!
I agree with nash79, it could possibly be a media problem. Apart from your firmware, config discs and the games you mentioned, have any of your other backup games worked? In my experience, the discs I used for my firmware and config discs don't work for backup games, even if I burnt them the same way.
i'm using phillips DVD+R's. I have at least 20 titles working with these. Weird thing is I get the title screen up in the menu but when I click start thats when I get the message. Think my last option is to re download them incase they lied about it being pal! :-( Anyone know where I can get the quickest downloads these days? i'm using mininova.org, is that the best?
first DVD+R arent very good, even verbatim dvd+r were failing on my wii.
DVD-R are more 'WII-firnedly' as they are easier to read.
Second, phillips arent good media (I had bad experience with their dvd-r, so ...)
if you think you got a fake/wrong game, dont download it again, just get it to work with freeloader.
you still can change the region, by getting the iso out of the burnt dvd and get patch it with reagionfrii.
