Ok am a newbie..sorta.
I have a wiikey that is working fine. I know because I have a few games that a friend of mine burnt for me and they work without issues. But he charges me $3 a game and it takes him weeks to get one to me. I know I should be able to burn them myself with one (if not both) of the burners I have. I have an older Lite-on SHM-165H6S that I use with IMGBurn and Nero. I have tried different speeds and setting for both. I have no problem burning the updates and config CD for the WiiKey but I have yet got one game to burn. Question numbero uno: If I can burn the WiiKey updates and Config CD shouldn't I be able to burn an ISO?
Question two: Lite-on have all these extra setting that I dont know if they would interfer or not. Such as SmartBurn, Hypertuning and Overspeed. Which should I have on or off. I have been attempting to burn with both 4X and 2.4X with Verbatim +R and -R. Any suggestions or I have heard of some type of scan you can do when burning but I don't what what the best software to use is. Thanks for your help.

PS. I have configed my WiiKey for 3X read speed and using only NTSC ISO's that have the proper file sizes. And yes I set DVD-ROM for my +R.

At present the only drives known to be capable of reading Wii and GC discs are the following:

Hitachi LG GDR-8161b (IDE)
Hitachi LG GDR-8162b (IDE)
Hitachi LG GDR-8163b (IDE)
Hitachi LG GDR-8164b (IDE)
Hitachi LG GDR-H10NBLK (SATA)

Using rawdump you can backup the disc to an iso for burning with any burner and free burning software- ImgBurn.

Alternatively, you can backup your wii games using a wiikey-sd adpater (also known as Gecko adapter) which will backup the disc into segments you can transfer to your pc and rejoin with HJ Split and then burn to disc.
