i have a custom built htpc which is:

a q6600
4 gigs ram
vista ultimate x64
sli 9600gt

and i have windvd9


my question is how do i take off those black bars on the top and bottom of the creen when playing dvds?
i loved using windvd9 it upscales the video nicely very clean sharp hd picture but my only problem is that the screen is like less than half of my actual screen size because of the massive space those black bars take up


the stretch function on windvd9 doesnt seem to want to work

i8 want a program or plugin or soemthing trha twill enable me to play my dvds with the sharp upscalling power of windvd9 coupled with the ability to make it completely full screen. if i could do that then i would be in heaven


also my screen is a vizio 37 inch hdlcd 720p hdtv with a vga cord


oh yeah and another question ive always had was howcome the hdmi cord that i use to connect my pc to the tv cutts off a big chunk of the screen ie i cant see the far left part of my desktop when the pc is on?
just wnated to throw that up there


and one more thing if u could please tell al the best upscalling program s u know of no matter how much the cost

i've heard of red giant or bullet orsomething like that im just kinda a noob so just enlighten me on my options to go hd from a sd dvd
