Today is my day off so I figured I'd try and mod something, since the 360 is the only thing i have left to mod (and they are really cheap now) I thought I'd try it.
So after searching with google i found a sweet tutorial, so first i take apart the 360 which went fine, then i connect the drive to the comp, then i downloaded all the necessary tools (Slax, firmware toolbox 3.0)
The first time I ran slax it would not boot up so i downloaded slax 2.1 which worked fine, so i get my drive into modeb and restart the comp.
I insert a dvd and lock the drive, the comp recognizes the drive :), now when i run firmware toolbox and go to dump my original firmware it freezes :(, but usually before i even get a chance to dump it.
Sometimes it freezes when i'm typing what i want to save it as, and sometimes it freezes right when the come starts up.
It not only freezes the comp but the 360 shuts off too :s
I've tried this numerous times and numerous ways and i can't seem to figure out why, any input would be greatly appreciated.
***UPDATE***
I tried using a different dvd, which actually didn't freeze right away, but when i try to dump it says the drive is unavailable or something, then the comp freezes :(
not sure if it matters but did you use a dl movie (green mile etc.)i played it safe givin the games are dl...all when fine i think...it plays originals and newer back-up but not older back-ups ( a re-flash was my first project) good luck
