yes, the chip is only boots the EEPROM. the 5th pin powers the EEPROM and when it isnt there, it cant boot. the other parts of the chip dont matter. you can take them all off. this has been known for a very long time

what is this suppost to be a guide or a reply or what

its prity simple what a eeprom is.

removing the 5pin changes the hex code serial of the battery to 0xffffff it doesnt actualy turn it off and the other parts of the cip do matter as they will control the flow of energy to and from the battery
