I have the ixtreme 1.4 Firmware, blaster 360 (NE).
I connected a SATA to USB cable to my Blaster, turned to ModeB on, changed to PC mode, flicked switch to ON. I doible clicked on the FLASHIX.bat file, told it to flash the L drive which was the 360.
It asked me what speed firmware I used 12x. It asked me to make a backup folder, I did and that was saved in a folder with X16S-XXXX, I have a inside that folder a "key" and a "was" ISO, please someone tell me that having these saved will prevent me from bricking?
The reason is, when I then started to flash it froze on the very first process, if I try again should I use the restore or would these freeze not been seen as a complete flash, and just try again without restore. On top of that I have a RROD which I am going to hopefully fix by removing the x-clamp and doing the screw trick.
Should I wait to flash it again until I get rid of the RROD?
I'm not sure why it wouldn't get past the first part of flashing. I have heard some people say not to bother using the Blaster to flash and just flash directly... but they never explain where or how. Do I just take the 360 apart and plug directly into the DVD drive itself with my USB to SATA cable?
Thanks to anyone who can help and not tell me to RTFM, since I been looking for these simple answers for days on forums all over the place.
