before i continue with the post i would like to thank Homesick for his words of wisdome and i would also like to thank all the members of this forum for thier continued support.

ok ive decided to flash my xbox 360 drive, the last time i tried this things dident turn out so well and i lost a console (due to a power cut).

1. 1.4.1 is the newest
2. see the following i made up.

step 1: put USB stick into USB slot
2: open up iPrep
3: load firmware definition (1.4.1)
4: select drive letter from drop down box
5: hit make bootable
6: shut down computer
7: deassemble 360 and hook the dvd drive up to the PCI card
8: turn computer on, boot off the USB stick
9: follow command prompts (it will put the orig.bin on the USB stick after you run the dben 1234567 12345 command.)
10: shut down 360 and computer and restart into windows
11: open up Firmware toolbox and make sure the FW it dumped is a legit one. if so move on, if not do as i said before to copy and paste a legit key in it.
12: restart computer and boot off the USB drive.
13: follow command promts and run the fben 1234567 12345 command to erase/flash the drive with the 'hacked' firmware.
14: shut down 360 and computer
15: put a burnt game in it to make sure it plays.
16: if it plays, put 360 back together
17: if it doesnt play games, see if it will play original games then restart computer off the USB drive, hook 360 back up and run the rben 1234567 12345 command to restore it to original shape. and start over.

3. email it to yourself, put it on a floppy disc, save it on every hard drive you have on your computer. write down the key as it will be letters and numbers.

Make sure you don't forget to ground your xbox. Just gator clip the xbox chassis to computer chassis.

and this! :http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/664581

tck do not forget that key it is very important. also, you can use like a regular ground for a stereo if you have to just wrap wire around a hole in the chassi on your pc. i didnt use gator clips, nor did i ground, but i'd hate to see you lose another box. good luck.

i have not had any problems in losing keys. i dont think you will either. you shouldnt need to use the toolbox unless something happens. iprep should do its job correctly. just make sure you read the tut a couple of times before you start.
