So i got a new 24" monitor, and i thought maybe i should try playing the psp on it. Tried the remotejoy method, and not particularly impressed with it. I know there are PSP to component cables, but component to vga adaptors are expensive, and im not even sure if it would work if I plugged it into the monitor, or turn out in the quality i expect. So, i found this PSP to D-video cable, but i looked on sony site and its not on their website, so I think its a fake. Can anyone confirm that this indeed is not an official sony product?
Putting that aside, how does the quality appear on a HDTV using component cable?
I don't know about the D-sub cable, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an aftermarket addition.
Be prepare to be disappointed with component output while gaming. The PSP can only put out 480x272 so the image will be terribly letterboxed on all sides. Some people have TV's with zoom features that are sufficient, but the HDTV I tried it with wouldn't allow Zoom once the PSP was connected.
That said, there's a homebrew program called FUSA that is getting better every day at allowing fullscreen via component and composite cables. The compatibility and speed aren't 100%, but getting better. You might want to google it.
