OK i recieved my drive today and i opened it up and it sais

DVD-rom drive SH-D162D


SH-D162D

F/W = SB00

i dont know if it is flashed already but it does not get recognized in xbox backup creator

im on windows xp by the way and the drive is external.

what do i do and were can i get the kron firmware 0.8 for the drive?

you can download the most recent 1.0 Kreon firmware from Eurasia.NU or from Xbins

how come it wont work on my vista laptop but it will work on my xp laptop thats what i dont understand.

i plug it into my xp lapy and everything runs smoothly like i havnt even plugged the drive in

i plug it into my vista and my computer just doesnt respond ???
