first off, I just want to say that I've read through the wiikey tutorials/help guide.


The problem:
I have is that my wii (with wiikey installed) does NOT read any backup discs, including the update and recovery discs. (all were chopped to 1.4gig)

The strange thing is that the wii did not read Mario Super Smash Brothers Brawl original disc when I first had the wiikey installed. Out of the blue, it reads the SSBB original disc fine. (am I wrong to assume that the wiikey is now disabled somehow?)

Current situation: it won't read any burned iso dvds with updates at all, the recovery disc cannot be read either. All discs (except original dvd games) will give me the cannot read error.

here are the update/configuration discs that I've tried.

config.
1.3hacked (chopped)
1.3

update bootable isos:
1.9b recovery padded
1.9g padded
1.9s padded

all dvds are ty02 -R discs. Burned from 1x-4x only.

Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Can you post a pic of the solder job on the wiikey? Not to be mean or anything but sometimes a sloppy job could cause a hit or miss problem... meaning maybe it was barely making contact at some point and it wouldnt read the original ssbb and now its totally loose and the wii doesnt think its in there.
Does that make any sense?
