I have a 360 with a BenQ drive. I have the tutorial on how to flash the drive. I have all the necessary hardware to do the flash. My concern is, if I get banned from Xbox Live, is there any way to restore... to original??

I have read that the nemo(?) modchip does not change the firmware, thus no concern over getting banned... I just am not an experienced solderer.

Which is the best way to go about having the ability to play backups as well as playing online?

In either case, firmware flash or modchip, can both play backups online?

thanks for your time

dont double post, and read the tutorials because its obvious you know about 10% of what you should. please read the tutorials first and then ask questions. seing as how you have to read my answers anyway.

OK... double post was a mistake.. I'll remove it.
If you are the one writing the tutorials, I think I'll look elsewhere... I do not appreciate your attitude.

I will be using iPrep 101 on a USB flash drive with BenQ's iXtreme 1.41 firmware. My hope is to then use my Pioneer to make backups with Xbox Backup Creator. If unsuccessful, I may invest into a Kreon flashed drive. I found this on information on my own.

There is a multitude of tutorials out there to read, although I'm sure you are knowledged in the process of 360 modding, for you to say "read the tutorials" and call me stupid (know 10%), isn't helping me.

But it has helped.. You know how much you have to learn ;)

Flash your drive and then source a backup from somewhere and burn it to prove that your flash and disks/burn process are good. Then proceed to making your own backups.

There is a learning curve which depends somewhat on your existing hardware and operator skill level. Just spoonfeeding you a stock set of answers may allow you to make 1 or 2 but you need to understand how the process works because you have to attack every one with eyes open.

Well said. I agree wholeheartedly.. Still much to learn...

To Homesick:
Um... OK. I guess I didn't read that from your original reply.

No more questions for you Homesick.

thats fine, however i wasnt giving you an attitude you just kind've took it upon yourself to make it that way. as for questions i've been around awhile and answer 98% of the posts so if you ask questions that you could answer yourself just by reading then i think you will find you will get about as much help from someone else as me. hence the reason this thread isnt flooded with people trying to help you. good day to you sir.
