If your system burns Memorex dvd+r/w and/or dvd-r media, made by Memorex, then the best place to get it is at Walmart. Yes, I said Wal-mart. Why? Well, I have worked part-time there before and they have this little known policy called "Comp-pricing" Simply grab a pack of your preferred Memorex(mine is 25 pack dvd+r with grey bottom)media go thru the checkout and tell the cashier you would like to competative-price the product. If they ask and you are willing too, they would (most of the time) accept a printed ad from online from the closest place to you like Circuit City or Best Buy or Fry's. As for my back-up ad I screen-captured an ad for Memorex dvd's from Circuit City and edited in my own price. However, most Walmarts won't ask you for proof as long as you stay under 40% off the shown price. For instance: Orig price $38.83, comp-priced at $25.49 which is a 35% discount. Simply put, Walmart is not allowed to deny you unless it is a blatant attempt at screwing them over and if the media is crap then Walmart will always accept returns!
Now doesn't that sound better than the trouble of ordering over the internet?

I wrote that very late last night and I forgot to add in a disclaimer saying that this only applies to people in North America with a Wal-Mart available to them.

Your method of purchasing blanks seems spot on. Unfortunately I live in the cloudy ole lands of England, where "screwing" the customer has reached epidemic levels.

You know, the cheapest blanks I ever got were form "ebay", bought from the states !!!. And of course, I only use Riteks. Ever considered changing brand m8?. It really is worth it.

I figured you were from Merry Ol' England when I saw a post on another string from you and you were talking about 'drinking a pint'. Thats why I added my disclaimer. Yeah, I would like to order Ritek but unfortunately I spent all my extra money on the Plextor(I'm a student). Therefore I figure if the 75% of the Memorex works then I can deal with a pack of it until I get more money to order some bulk Ritek. I just thought I'd pass along the info to whomever because even though Wal-Mart is killing small business they have some rockin' deals and most people don't realize it. Thanks for the heads-up about Ebay though.
