Background...had xp and liteon dvdwriter. had LOTS of trouble burning/was told it was bad media(tdk, magnavox etc) all the cheap stuff. trouble w/ burner after 1 year. bought external liteon and did not have one bad burn. computer crashed... bought new hp w/vista 64bit, lightscribedvd supermulti drive/cd-writer, 4 memory, 500 hd. Downloaded dvdfab5.02. not a problem with copying to hd but it will not burn. popup saying that disc will not burn(after it has ruined a blank disc), have turned off sleep, turned to slowest record speed. tried to download to hd with fab (no problem) and manually burn from folder. Worked once and not another time. There is nothing in the log to send, either. some are old movies and a few are new.
Does anyone have a suggestion what the problem could be?
thx for the info. it was my next move anyway. however, i don'
t understand why i would have to do it. why have the internal burner if it won't do the job. i contacted dvdfab and the standard 'uninstall...different media' was the reply. there has to be a better answer than this. will the media make that much of a difference with the internal and not the external? am i asking too much of the manufacturers to make/design smartly? Sorry for the venting. And thx for the help.
dvds are tdk
i'm using dvdfab burning w/nero
the log...that's the rub since there is none. not a one for the 4 that i tried to burn.
my machine is less than 2 months old but will check on the firmware just to be safe.
ah, progress.i really miss my xp. life was much simpler.
thanks.
sorry for the delay. i have reloaded nero7 and dvdfab. hopefully this will take care of the problem. won't know until later today. i don't have roxio.will post when i burn today. thanks for the time and info. i should have reloaded before i hit the panic button. will let you know one way or another. again, a newbie thanks all for the help!
