Background...had xp and liteon dvdwriter. had LOTS of trouble burning/was told it was bad media(tdk, magnavox etc) all the cheap stuff. trouble w/ burner after 1 year. bought external liteon and did not have one bad burn. computer crashed... bought new hp w/vista 64bit, lightscribe dvd supermulti drive/cd-writer, 4 memory, 500 hd. Downloaded dvdfab5.02. not a problem with copying to hd but it will not burn. popup saying that disc will not burn(after it has ruined a blank disc), have turned off sleep, turned to slowest record speed. tried to download to hd with fab (no problem) and manually burn from folder. Worked once and not another time. There is nothing in the log to send, either. some are old movies and a few are new.
Does anyone have a suggestion what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Try swapping the external liteon to the new pc.

thx for the info. it was my next move anyway. however, i don'
t understand why i would have to do it. why have the internal burner if it won't do the job. i contacted dvdfab and the standard 'uninstall...different media' was the reply. there has to be a better answer than this. will the media make that much of a difference with the internal and not the external? am i asking too much of the manufacturers to make/design smartly? Sorry for the venting. And thx for the help.

what are the dvdrs make/brand?

what software you useing?

so you read the log and its all good? can we have a look

you may have other software stopping burning?

dvdrs / drives do make a difference, usually a firware update sorts some problems out...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

you made me think. should i try one of the software apps that came with hp along with my dvdfab? is it possible that they are overriding nero?
