PSP WONT READ DISCS

Hi all just wondered if there was something wrong with my psp. I was playing on it fine this morning for a couple of houors no problem. I picked it up this afternon to play and it wouldnt read any of my discs.
I have check inside and the disc is spinning and the laser is flashing but the discs wont read. It sounds as though it is trying to rad them but comes up with an error saying the disc could not be read.
any help please it helps keep me sane playing my psp.

firstly try to restore the defaults settings of your console. secondly a question: does the umd unit sounds badly? like crak crack or something? if so something is rong with your umd reader probably the psp got with force on the ground. if no bad noise then a downgrade to 1.50 firmware and again back to your current firmware will help if not pm for more

Hi sounds like the reader is trying to read the discs but struggling. I know it has not been dropped so there is no damage. How do i downgrade to 1.50 firmware??
