Hi. I have a old ps2 gathering dust here. It wont play games properly (guitar hero lags, the drive seems to be slow) it's an old fat ps2 model no SCPH-39001. Anyway, I'd like to install a mod chip in there, but I have no clue what to do. I don't mind doing the soldering, I know i'll be dealing with small parts. But I also would like to add a hard drive and boot the games from the drive, if possible. Witch mod chip should i get? Whats the cheapest ones?

get a crystal 2.0, it has a boot manager.

The problem is, its very hard to locate sellers of ps2 mod chips now. They're hard to find.

I see one going on for $7 at dealextreme.com (modbo) is it compatible with my ps2?
